Outer Rim

Tatooine Tatooine, a desert world of twin suns.Tatooine was settled in ages past by mining corporations. However, the minerals proved unsuitable for manufacture, leaving the planet to the native jawas and sandpeople, and people stranded without work or funds to leave. The world eventually was taken over by the Hutts.

Mos Espa Slavery was common. Moisture farming became one means of livelihood, most others either supplied this or were just passing through or hiding out. Cities of partially underground dwellings cater to the spaceports.

As a planet, it consists of mostly sand, but hardy life does survive there. It's twin suns leave it dangerously hot in the daytime, it's nights can be quite cold. Sandstorms can be quite dangerous, drowning victims in sand, so even bodies may not be found. Some historical records indicate that the world may have been very different long ago, covered in oceans in fact, and then it was destroyed in a battle between the natives and the Rakatan invaders.

Yavin 4 Yavin the planet is a gas giant, suitable for mining but not human habitation. However it has many moons. The most famous feature of the system is Yavin 4.

Yavin 4 Jungle This moon has served as a sith base, a base for the Alliance to Restore the Republic and a Jedi training academy. The battle to destroy the Empire's first Death Star occurred here, and so Yavin is now considered the 'galactic standard' for timelines. All events occur before or after this battle. The jungle moon is teeming with life forms. It has numerous crumbling temples, left over from as long ago as Naga Sadow and the ancient sith. They were expanded by Exar Kun for his sith base. They were later used as the base for the Alliance. However, most of these were destroyed when the Yuuzhan Vong invasion subjected that area of the moon to terraforming.
