Collecting

It spawned an entertainment empire of it's own.

Before Star Wars, sci fi worlds usually looked new and unused, Special FX were in their infancy, and toys based on movies were hardly heard of. Now Star Wars has expanded into TV, books, comics, graphic novels, video games, toys, electronics and more. You can buy a real 'droid' phone, a realistic R2-D2 robot and more. Kids who grew up on the original ended up working on the prequels, writing the books, the comics and games and spreading to newer generations. For the Star Wars galaxy, their seems to be no end in sight.

Star Wars being so vast, it's easy to be overwhelmed at the idea of collecting. But you don't have to go crazy and by everything in sight (tempting though it may be.)
You can just pick up inexpensive items for fun, or save up for a few expensive special ones.
But remember: Buy because you love it, not just in the hope it will go up in value and make you a fortune on e-bay. That is never guaranteed.
What is guaranteed is you will need space to put it and money to pay for it.
And whatever you do, remember to enjoy it.
